The exhibition Present Perfect explores the present as a moment in which past and future are inextricably intertwined. Historical experiences, political narratives, and collective gestures shape our actions and form ideas of community, future, and power. At a time when authoritarian tendencies and far-right ideologies are once again gaining influence, Present Perfect intervenes through artistic-research practice and sets impulses for a rethink: responsibility arises from the awareness that (political) developments are not accidental, but emerge from processes of negotiation. The future is not a neutral movement—it takes shape through decisions made in the here and now.
